Wismar Seaport mastering energy transition by photovoltaics

A photovoltaic system with a yield forecast of approx. 2200 kWp is expected to be put into operation at the end of the first quarter of 2023 on a previously unused open space. The self-consumption share of the energy generated on the seaport site will be around 35-40%. An excess feed of green energy into the public grid is planned.
More control in the energy procurement process and high savings in electricity procurement costs are a clear competitive advantage and guarantee long-term price stability. Green electricity generated on site not only relieves the grid, but also makes a major contribution to CO2-neutral port operations. Among other things, in addition to the conversion of the industrial trucks to battery operation, the revision of the lighting concept is also planned. The gradual conversion of the vehicle fleet to electric drives begins with the delivery of the first forklifts in November of this year.
With FABER Solartechnik as our partner, we have a more experienced and competent partner at our side from the conception through installation to operation. We look forward to the implementation of the project, as the first significant milestone in the conversion of the port's energy concept to a Green Port. Further measures such as the use of wind energy are already being planned.
