Long-term new business in lumber export for the USA

10/07/2022 – From November, the first Ultrabulk ships with sawn timber will leave the seaport of Wismar for the east coast of the USA. Two ships per month are planned in liner service.

As an important partner of the European timber industry, the seaport of Wismar not only deals with round timber, but also with the handling of processed sawn timber. Due to a long-term new business, the seaport will record significant growth in sawn timber exports over the next few years. Two ships per month are planned in liner service. The unloading of the goods, which are primarily delivered by wagon, is planned with environmentally friendly electric forklifts. Until it is loaded, the sawn timber is stored in an adjacent area of around 45,000m² near the large berths.

With D. Oltmann Logistik GmbH and Ultrabulk, we have two experienced and competent partners at our side. As a traditional and independent liner agency in Bremen, D. Oltmann Logistik has excellent global connections. We look forward to the implementation of the project. As early as November, two Ultrabulk ships with lumber on board will be leaving the port of Wismar for the east coast of the USA.
