Wismar Seaport renews part of its vehicle fleet
Four new Caterpillar wheel loaders, one of the 926M type and three of the 966M type, eight new Kalmar fork-lift trucks, from seven tons up to sixteen ton units, as well as seven new tractor trucks of the type RT283 by Messrs Terberg have joined the day-to-day handling business at the beginning of November.
The reasons for the regular replacement of the vehicle fleet are the technological optimisations and improvements of the units in recent years. The focus here is on the highest possible productivity, lower consumption and a steady exhaust gas reduction.
„Green Logistics is a foregone conclusion to us which we implement consistently", assures Olaf Lambrecht, head of port engineering at Wismar Seaport, who is at the same time pleased with the extension of the long-standing cooperation with the leasing companies Cargotec and Zeppelin. Full-service maintenance contracts which include regular and short-term repairs, maintenance work and inspections round off the service portfolio.
For the terminal tractor trucks the seaport has opted for a new manufacturer this time, Messrs. TERBERG. „The vehicles were rented from Messrs. TERBERG with a premium service package which offers high flexibility to Wismar Seaport. It is a real no-worries package", states Lisa Franz, Rental Manager at TERBERG Spezialfahrzeuge GmbH.
