05/23/2016 –

On 11 May 2016 Wismar seaport again loaded a consignment of 1,700 tons of animal-feed salt into MV OSA destined for Abenraa in Denmark.

Shipments of animal-feed salts are developing continuously since the certification of the new storage and handling terminal, successfully completed at the end of last year according to GMP+ B3, and the commissioning of the terminal.

Seehafen Wismar GmbH is an officially certified company for the storage and handling of animal feed. It is listed in the GMP database and is thus again extending and diversifying its service portfolio.

By creating these new special storage and handling capabilities the seaport was able to respond quickly to the market requirements of its long-standing and important handling customer esco - european salt company GmbH & Co. KG, implementing this project together with them.

„We are pleased to have a logistics partner as competent and as forward-looking as Wismar seaport by our side. By the building work now implemented we are securing our common business and have furthermore created the preconditions for further joint and successful growth“, states Stephan Gatz, Vice President Supply Chain Management at esco.

Storage and handling at Wismar seaport are an integral part of the supply chain for animal-feed salts and satisfy the highest requirements with regard to quality assurance in this field of business. In addition to the self-control exercised continuously, monitoring audits are conducted annually in order to check, show and document the certainty that GMP+ B3 standards are adhered to.
